GDP, no overtaking China on Japan

The Japanese economy is the second largest economy in the world, at least for 2009. Despite the Japanese gross domestic product in 2009 has fallen by 5% was still higher than that of China. In 2009 the Japanese nominal GDP amounted to 5.075 billion dollars while the GDP of China has "stopped" to 4,900 billion dollars.
A gap of 175 billion dollars which enabled Japan to be the second largest economy behind the United States and ahead of China. The result so negative for the Japanese GDP is due to the collapse in the first quarter of 2009, in full crisis. In subsequent quarters there has been even a weak growth (the GDP in the fourth quarter increased 1.1% over the previous quarter and of 4.6% over the same period last year) which is still unable to prevent the bad outcome .
