Planet devoured by its star

Devoured a planet from its star, is the phenomenon that has been identified thanks to a new instrument of the Hubble Space Telescope, the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS).
The phenomenon, in which there is transfer of material between the celestial body and the star was already known, but in the past had only been observed between pairs of stars ( binary star systems ) and not between a star and a planet.
The star is known as Wasp-12 and is located in the constellation Auriga at a distance of 600 light years from the sun, the planet is called WASP-12b is a gaseous planet four times larger than Jupiter, and takes one day to make a complete circle around the star.
According to scientists within 10 million years the planet will cease to exist completely "consumed" by its star.
The planet is so close to the star that its temperature reaches 2,800 degrees Fahrenheit (1537 ° C), also known as the tidal forces of the star are literally "stretching" the planet until it resemble a football.
