2009 record for the Italian wind, +30%

The year just ended was a record year for wind power in Italy. In 2009, 1,100 megawatts of installed wind power, 30% more than the previous year, and efficient wind power has reached 4,850 megawatts.
According to data published by Anev (National Association wind energy), ENEA (National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development), Ato (renewable energy producers association), ISES Italy (International Solar Energy Society ), also in 2009 were produced by wind 6.7 TWh (billion kWh), representing 2.1% of gross domestic consumption, domestic consumption and the equivalent of 7 million Italians.
With these numbers in wind Italy is the third largest country in Europe and sixth in the world.
