A few days ago a comet crashed into Jupiter, the largest planet in the Solar System. The impact produced a black spot on Jupiter comparable in size to those of the Pacific Ocean.
The impact has been discovered, at 13:10 UTC on July 19, dall'astrofilo Australian Anthony Wesley as he watched from home Jupiter with his telescope. Wesley has contacted several astronomers and even NASA has confirmed the discovery .
The Hubble Space Telescope has captured images of the black stain left by the impact of the comet
This event happened 15 years away from the impact of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter occurred between 16 July and 22 July 1994.
