Asteroid whizzes past Earth

At 14:44 today an asteroid 40 meters in diameter is passed at a distance of 63,500 km from the Earth.
The asteroid, discovered recently, was called DD45. Its dimensions are similar to the asteroid that fell in the Tunguska region of Siberia in 1908, whose explosion was equivalent to the explosion of 1,000 Hiroshima atomic bombs like the one that destroyed and more than 200 square miles of forest.
The asteroids that come too close to Earth, called Near Earth Objects (Neo), are constantly monitored by a surveillance system internationally.
According to the astronomer Peter Brown of Ontario dell'Universtità the next asteroid will pass close to Earth asteroid Apophis which has a 2.9% probability of hitting the Earth.
