The Phoenix probe has completed its mission

NASA announced on November 10 after the probe mission of Phoenix (Phoenix Mars Lander) sent to Mars.

The probe, the first of the Scout program of NASA, was launched towards the red planet on August 4 of 2007 and was landed on the surface of Mars, to the north of all probes sent so far, 25 May 2008. Phoenix has analyzed the ground, among the first results was verified the presence of ice in the Martian subsurface (which was detected by the probe Odyssey Orbiter in 2002). The probe has also sent more than 25,000 images.

With the arrival of autumn Martian northern hemisphere there is sufficient light in the landing place to recharge the batteries that give energy to the instruments Phoenix, this puts an end to the mission of Phoenix, which has exceeded its life expectancy three months.
In any case, scientists continue to listen for the next two weeks waiting for any incoming messages from Phoenix in order not to leave any lost data being transmitted.
